For as long as i can ever remember, i have been made to understand that sin has a level of category that differentiates how their punishment will be likewise and yes till this day i still hold on to this way of thinking not that it is rightfully the gospel but as a precautionary principle and guide to mistakes, we need to understand the consequences exactly.
Everyday you are made aware that there are big sins and small sins but being careful not to allow your small sins lead to big sin and the big ones lead to much more bugger sins and also the pre-notion of purgatory for the lost souls who will have to atone for their sins in the afterlife...
As you begin to understand the nature of God's relationship with us, we need to go backwards to the old testament before the coming of Christ. Every judgement was finite and every sin was allowed it immediate punishment immediately, in that people who knew the Lord were truly really scared of his wrath. Yes our ways were too imperfect that God could not even show us his love without us incurring some wrath of him one way or the other. Even the Priest who were meant to stay holy could not stand his presence in the holy of holies and many even died while the times for offerings came in Israel of old.
It was also understood that new born children are not free from that sin which denies us from enjoying God wonderful love for us all, the sins of the Father (Generation Sin). As we transfer DNA and blood groups from one generation to another, we have also helped transfer curses, imperfections, sinfulness as well. So a new born baby with no sense of what the world is could die in sin without even experiencing what sin truly is but heaved by the burden of it from its past generation.
Look around your new age today and tell me if God's wrath surrounds us? If God's wrath were upon us, we would never have tried to build space craft to leapt off into the sky, or try venturing into all other out of space creatures. If we were surrounded by God's wrath, you will not have people messing with his creation and getting away with it.
We are at the time of grace and in this time is the call to God's words at every moment and if you cannot sense the times, then you truly are not in the way of the righteous. The power of sensitivity has been given to you and i and we can either believe what the spirit is saying to the church or build our own personal ideas about what we see and then await judgement to know who is right ornot...
We can rather just appreciate the nature of God, seek his wisdom and pray for an understanding that our tiny little brains can handle. ask yourself again today, after the death of Christ, was it not said to be finished? What was Christ talking about when he mentioned it was finished? Why the the earth shook and the cloak tore into two pieces? have you ever wondered what those signs God left for us to see, helping us understand that an old reign has ended and a new one just kickstarted right before our very eyes.

Christ did walk the path of righteousness, underwent baptism, underwent fastings, and did a lot in his ministry but today we are rather dormant in spirit, dormant in the physically and expecting Christ to come again and do all he had done all over again, forgetting that he mentioned that we will do more than he has ever done...
